The other is the one that is different from me or from us. The images we create from prejudices and stereotypes are observed by us in the other. The other person has experienced what we did not dare to do / behave in our selves, perhaps because of jealousy, we have declared them to be other than us. The culture that comes together with the society contains the majority with the same opinion. Minorities who have different opinions are those who are marginalized. The human being is no longer happy with the living space and prefers to relocate. He feels it is imperative. Therefore, the othering results in our world both socially and physically. The marginalization and exclusion status in a community is built by the human hand. However, in this dystopia, the othering is a phenomenon realized by the universe itself. People also supported this phenomenon and led to the marginalization in social life.

In the film Upside Down ', where the urban fiction is located, the universe functions differently than it actually is. The two habitable planets in the universe are located close to each other. On the surface where the planets are closest to each other, people have created living spaces for themselves. The people of these two cities are mutually dependent on the rules of gravity of their world. The sociological problem is portrayed vertically in this setting. In this dystopia, two cities are connected to each other by a business center; one of the cities is bourgeois and the other is the proletariat. This business center, which is the only place where these two cities can unite and form a common space, is actually the key stone of this system. Therefore, the common space solutions created are part of this system. The bourgeoisie has built a business center and elevated it to the lower world. In this way, it will be able to increase its own wealth and at the same time obtain cheap labor from the lower world. Here, there is a system that works differently from the class difference formation in the current life. In our universe, status, power, or gain gives rise to a class difference, but the class gap in this universe begins with the construction of the structure. Because, only in this way the two cities were able to communicate and turn into different means for each other. After the construction of this business center, the upper city enriched itself, while the lower city has gone down to an economic decline. Because its economy has become attached to this business center. As a result of this, the working class, in terms of both living and living conditions in the lower world; the bourgeoisie has existed in the upper world as employees of the business center and employees with much better living conditions.

There are many sociological problems in the lower world. Problems such as living conditions, security, environmental pollution, lack of green space, irregular urbanization and othering are the problems that need to be improved. The issue to be emphasized is the lack of green space and the othering problem. The place where the designed structure is located in the lower world is an undefined city square.

Squares; It is the city spaces where people are together, they share, gather, act, organize meetings. At the same time squares; The major events in history, the history of society, the war-peace-deaths have witnessed, the names of important people / events are the urban spaces. These important places of the city are able to melt the class differences in the city because they contain a lot of movement and even the biggest class differences meet in the city squares in the same space.

A new and defined challenge has been considered at the junction of the designed structure with the lower world. As a result of the lack of care of the city, the main goal is to improve the city square, which is transformed into undefined urban spaces. At the junction point, the structure itself defines a new transition area, and the area at the center of the structure defines a new square. Therefore, the entrances designed bring the people of the lower world from the streets to the common areas of the two cities and bring them together in the common areas of the city. Access to the building is provided by ramp. People face mirrors when they look up the square. Mirrors here are the symbols of the purpose of the structure, the symbol of existence. The person who looks in the mirror sees herself/himself as the opposite, and the opposite person s/he sees is the reflection of the upper world. In this way, the structure conveys to the users that it offers common spaces for two world people.

The upper world city, which is a metropolis, has a rather crowded urban fabric. As a result of the increasing structure, the city squares left themselves to the masses that do not have the function of meeting area like shopping center or business center. Therefore, the new merger areas of metropolitan cities have been such structures. People have been forced to choose shopping centers, not squares as a meeting place. In order to organize action or demonstration, the existing city squares are insufficient. In such a cramped city, the green areas have already lost their existence.

It is one of the busiest shopping centers in the city at the junction of the building with the upper world. This entrance, which aims to criticize city squares as a result of urban congestion, has taken people from shopping centers to green areas and real squares. The structure, which is designed to take the center of the shopping center, does not interfere with the structure. The entrance to the designed structure is again through the ramp. The ramp is designed to be wrapped around the mall. The design of the building is higher than the shopping center, so it does not interfere with the daylight of the shopping mall. The mirrors are also present at this entrance and assume the same symbolic expression.

In this dystopia, where the distance between the two worlds is 700 meters, the designed parts consist of 2 entrance structures and 45 meters high, the main structure repeating itself during the remaining distance. The most important thing considered in the main structure is the common space solution for two world people. The vertical settlement designed draws people from the streets to the city squares and then from the city squares to the common spaces of the two worlds. It was aimed to eliminate the other and the differentiation of class. For this purpose, special spaces have been designed with the aims of action-gathering-speaking-demonstration area, seating arrangement, playing field of children, sport and activity area.

In this design, the square presents itself in a wider range. It has now become the voice of two cities, not one city. It is designed as a space where the difference of class is completely eliminated, where two city people can meet in common place, can resist at the same time, can watch and participate in speeches. Thus, there is equality now.

At the design stage of the playground, toys are considered where children can have fun without discrimination. Along the same line, park play elements are designed where they can swing on the swing, and at the same time they can slide from the slide at the top and bottom. The cat ladder and birdhouse are also located at the children's park. It is designed to be two sided considering the belonging of cats and birds to the upper and lower world. The wooded road and basketball court are designed as joint activity / sports venues where two urban people can run at the same time, sit on the edge of the tree or play basketball.

The seating unit has a layout where two people can interact by establishing eye contact. At the same time, it is aimed to order a mutual or side-by-side conversation. Thus, the design can balance the physics of the universe with architecture.

As a result, a structure has been designed that is close to the existing business center, incorporating it in green, aiming to find a solution to the othering problem and removed from urban problems. This structure is a utopian solution to a dystopia city. It provides a solution to the sociological problem and the lack of green space. Together with this structure, the common spaces of the two urban people are no more than a business center. While the difference in class seen in the business center and the lack of social common space resulting from this caused people to move away from each other, in the designed structure, the common spaces were focused on. This class difference problem was tried to be eliminated by collecting people in the same place.
